Since February 2013, the literary and art Museum of the book named after A. p. Chekhov "Sakhalin Island" has been delighting residents of Sakhalin and guests of the city with various events and exhibitions in a new building in the middle of Chekhov square. Today, the Museum has two permanent exhibitions: "Man and Sakhalin through the eyes of Anton Chekhov" and "Sakhalin Island: open final".
You will get acquainted with the history of hard labor Sakhalin and make a unique trip to the past of our island together with Anton Chekhov. The second main exhibition of the Museum presents the life of the book "Sakhalin Island" in the theater, Museum and scientific spaces. You will be able to plunge into the atmosphere of creating works by A. p. Chekhov, and in the interactive zone to Supplement the Sakhalin chronicle, begun by Chekhov in the XIX century.
